Question for Rusty: It is in the wind that you will be in Phoenix Arizona in October on a building project. That exciting news has folks in Tucson (the lovely, natural city surrounded by national forests, 2 hours south of Phoenix) wondering if we could play too or at least visit the event?

Hey there Rusty! Where you been?? Yes, it’s beautiful here! We planted dundale peas from Australia in October and they are sky high now. The kids have been foraging (sp?) and filling up on them! We have pics on my facebook page. (shawna sullivan) The sand pit is still a big attraction for all the little ones. We have hills, water, edible plants,…[Read more]

It feels like spring! The garlic and all the other bulbs are about 3 inches above ground now! Exciting and fun! The blue birds are back too! The sounds all the birds are making are building to a spring time pitch now. Come on spring!

I’m in the middle of my life… I want to work with educators in the field but can seem to find my way in and continue to be stuck in a classroom which I love but I need more in my career. I want to helping adults create these wonderful experiences indoors and outdoors for young children. I also want my focus to be on outdoor play. I think so…[Read more]

I am planning a sabbatical for next year and my topic is to look at natural/living playspaces and I am wanting to visit some of the wonderful ones I have seen on the net. Can anyone put me in touch with any schools in the USA and the UK that would be really good to see.
-
Good idea. We will do it because we have a huge front porch that looks down on the yard below on three sides. I can imagine being on a ship looking down into the ”water”. Maybe we should throw down a life line!

Ok, I’ve read the book, (GREAT BOOK!), and have a question. What is the Pulley Place in the S.U.early ed and CC center playscape plateau? Sounds like a cool fun thing!

it’s our turn with ”THE BOOK!” I am savoring every word…and making notes…and dreaming.

We finaly planted bulbs yesterday. It was good fun. We may plant the garlic today if the rain holds off. I think we have the wrong garlic but we’ll try anyway. What a good idea. Thanks Rusty!

The night before my early morning keynote as I’m tweaking my slideshow in my hotel room I get a call to come up to the party in room 416 – “there’s a guitar, drinks, and lots of singing! come on up! do you have […]

Hi there!
We have a family child care home and are in the process of fixing up our new home. We moved in the spring and have room to ”play with”. We are wondering if anyone has tried to use a regular plastic slide on a hill. We would like to try that!
thanks -
